My Approach and Expertise of Consultancy

My Approach and Expertise of Consultancy

Starting as a grassroots community mobilizer in my own village , during last 22 years I participated so many development trainings, workshops, consultancy processes provided by external trainers , experts . When I was working as grassroots worker and thereafter middle level manager /trainer then I have experienced that often external trainer/experts/ consultants are very good in conducting classroom sessions with attractive presentation materials; involving games and structured experiences, writing reports but often I felt dissatisfaction of being failure to secure practical guide about " how can I do in the community or in projects or organizations. Though not all bust in most cases I have experienced " People who provide consultancy and training to staff -- if they have not done the same then it is very difficult to get practical guide in a simple way --that works for many grassroots practitioners . I began to realize that there is split between concepts and actual practices on the grounds, learning and doing.

With regards to providing consultancy services to others I constructed a value of myself that " I will share and learn with others for those things things which I ave done by myself "

I believe that reality and situations are local cultural and multiple in nature so concepts , theories and standard can only create meaning being related with local context thus there is no single way of doing but multiple ways. Instead of one way transfer of ideas, I need form co-learner relationship with the staff and manager of development agencies and organizations. I am serious about healing splits between training and action, research and intervention, standard procedure and multiple local realities. I do not form subject-object relationship with the service recipient organizations; but work being part of rather than apart from. I like to center mutual learning and actions to make development organizations and their programs effective. Until it is obvious instead of focusing on problems I appreciate facilitating organizations building and growing on their strengths and potentials.
